Deluxe Turkish Spike Fiddle

Also known as a Rebab, the Spike Fiddle was a key instrument in Arab Classical music (along with the Oud). It was especially favoured by the Ottoman (Turkish) Empire and could be heard everywhere from the palace to the tea house. They were often played in orchestras to give a stirring, powerful sound.

Carved wooden body and goatskin head.

Tunings vary considerably depending on who you’re playing with and what key they’re playing in.

Suggested tunings: CGCG,DGDG, or up to GDGD

Similar in design to Iranian kemanche.
