These beautifully hand-crafted drums are based on traditional African slit drums, hollow percussion instruments which are made more resonant through one or more slits in the wood. Each drum comes with two mallets. Pleasing to the eye as well as the ear!
Built of solid ash and tuned to a pentatonic G minor scale (GBbDFg). These tongue drums are accurately tuned with the notes stamped on the top. The sound is bright and strong, similar to a Balafon, and loud enough to be heard in a drum circle. If paired and played with 4 mallets, well over a dozen useful chords can be played.
