Beautiful mandolins from a local maker here in Berkeley.
It’s a blond! A classic shape and a classic look, this instrument is one that the builder is having a difficult time parting with: it’s a player! Even tone across the board, good volume and excellent clarity. Its soundboard is carved from Adirondack spruce and the back, sides and neck are of curly Red Maple. The.spalted maple veneer on the peghead is set off by solid wood wenge binding, which is also used around the top and around the fingerboard. The neck is 1.114” / 29mm at the nut, with a rounded profile and a volute where it joins the peghead. The top is X braced with Adirondack spruce. It has a bleached bone ‘Zero Fret” nut, Indian Ebony fingerboard, an adjustable Ebony bridge, Bill James tailpiece, EVO gold frets and Rubner brushed nickel tuning machines with black buttons. This mandolin has a carbon fiber rod embedded in the neck for strength and rigidity.
Recommended for Irish, Classical or folk music.
Comes with a hard case.
