The shruti box is a hand-pumped wind instrument which provides a drone for singing or playing other instruments. It can produce a single tone or chords. This shruti box has 13 reeds with 13 side mounted controls and integrated bellows.  It has the following tones:  C4, C#4, D4, D#4, E4, F4, F#4, G4, G#4, A4, A#4, B4, C5

The possible combinations of reeds can produce hundreds of sounds. The male shruti has a deeper sound than the female.

To play, open one or more reeds by pushing the toggle to the side, unlatch the integral bellows and unlatch the reeded side. It is essential that at least one reed be open when you pump the bellows.
