Entada (African Dream Herb) Seed Belt Shaker, Large

The entada plant  grows like a vine in tropical forests and produces a long bean pod with a dozen large seeds inside. The seeds are removed from the long pod, dried, washed, then cut leaving about 2/3 of the seed remaining. A whitish color flesh inside each seed is scooped out, one of the more difficult tasks of processing this seed.

The hollowed out seeds have a deep and rich tonal quality which makes them special for percussion instrument use. Belt contains about 60 seeds and is about 32 inches long. Made in Togo.
