Just received my latest order from the good folks at Lark in the Morning! This time I selected one of the Tabor whistles, which for me is a completely new foray into historical instruments. With only three holes (two in front, one in the back), it is designed to be played along with a small drum and, according to Wikipedia, has its origins as early as the 13th century. Until I gain the breath control to range through the octaves, I will happily play simple jigs and tunes such as "The Three-Legged Pig," "Dancing to Taxes," and the ever popular "Annoying the Neighbors!" In all seriousness, this is another wonderfully affordable instrument from Lark in the Morning and was delivered with the usual awesome customer service and fast shipping! As a long-time Lark customer, I absolutely love the variety of instruments and especially love that there are these great introductary models that allow me to explore new musical outlets!!
Every thing is good.

When I first saw the goatskin, I wasn’t sure if it was what I was looking for but I tried it out, it’s pretty much perfect, I make traditional Yupik drums that come from southwest Alaska, in my language, the Yugtun, language we call out drums a cauyaq, and the drum head is traditionally a stomach membrane of a walrus or seal. As someone who lives in modern age, we have contemporary styles and goatskin is one of our contemporary style. For this application it works great.
I read about sistrums in a fantasy adventure book and had to have one! Lark listed one I could afford that combines old crafting techniques with bottle caps! The delivery was quick. I played around with it and was surprised at all the different chimes and riffs it could make. Right now it is displayed with my also-African-made soda can lion. I'm happy!
Nice sound
This was my first ever Hardanger, so I basically wanted a "Squier" version of a Hardanger: an entry level Hardanger to learn on that was new and solid but wouldn't break the bank. This has been pretty much perfect and just what I wanted.I love playing it.
Beautiful amazing instrument! Easy and fun to play! Highly recommended! Great customer service and fast shipping!!
