Welcome to the Lark in the Morning used guitar collection. Here you'll find pre-owned acoustic, electric, and classical guitars, each one a single instrument with its own history and its own voice. Lark in the Morning is a music retailer based in Berkeley, California, and we have been helping players find instruments for decades.

What You'll Find in Our Used Guitar Collection

  • Acoustic guitars: steel-string guitars in a range of body styles, from small parlor guitars to full-size dreadnoughts.
  • Specialty guitars: 12-string, resonator, travel, and other guitars from around the world.
  • Classical and flamenco guitars: nylon-string guitars for fingerstyle, classical, and flamenco playing.
  • The occasional electric guitar: solid-body and hollow-body models for rock, blues, jazz, and country.

Our used inventory changes often. Because every guitar is one of a kind, what you see here is what we have in stock right now.

Why Buy a Used Guitar?

A used guitar often costs less than a comparable new one, which can put a higher-quality instrument within reach. Many players also find that well-made guitars sound more open and resonant after years of playing. Buying used keeps good instruments in circulation, and it is a friendly way to start or to add to your collection.

How We Describe Each Guitar

Every listing names the brand, model, and body style, and tells you the condition in plain language, including any repairs, wear, or modifications. Photos show the guitar as it is today. If you want more detail, just ask and we'll be glad to help.

Used Guitar FAQ

Are your used guitars playable right away?

Yes. Unless otherwise stated, all of our used guitars are checked and setup by our staff prior to sale. Some may have undergone more extensive repair in our shop and those details will be included in the product descriptions when applicable.

Can I return a used guitar?

Yes. Used guitars have the same return policy as the rest of our instruments.

Do you ship used guitars?

Yes, we ship used guitars all the time. Used guitars go through a final check before we ship so it may take an extra day or 2 to ship them. We ship every day except Sunday and Monday and normal turnaround for a used guitar is 2-3 days after your purchase.
