John Renbourn's unique stylistic fusion of British folk music with elements of country blues, modern jazz, ragtime, classical and pre-Renaissance music has led to his becoming one of the foremost fingerstyle guitarists performing today. John explores all the facets of his music in this 75 minute solo concert, recorded 1990 in Toronto, Canada. He plays a classic rock instrumental by Booker T. & The MGS and follows this with a gospel tuned learned from a recording by the great Bahamian guitarist, Joseph Spence. Traditional Irish melodies are played as easily as a jazz composition from the South African pianist, Dollar Brand. John Renbourn is a "complete guitarist" and a highly evolved musician. This video presents a rare night which combined great guitar playing, John's unique humor and a captivated full-house. Titles include: Sweet Potato, Medley: Abide With Me/Great Dreams From Heaven, Lord Franklin, Little Niles, Lindsay, From Sandwood Down To Kyle, Medley: The South Wind/The Blarney Pilgrim, Kokomo Blues, Medley: Lament For Owen Roe O'Neill/Mist Covered Mountains Of Home/The Orphan, Medley: Bunyan's Hymn/I Saw Three Ships/The English Dance and Cherry.

This was my first ever Hardanger, so I basically wanted a "Squier" version of a Hardanger: an entry level Hardanger to learn on that was new and solid but wouldn't break the bank. This has been pretty much perfect and just what I wanted.I love playing it.
Beautiful amazing instrument! Easy and fun to play! Highly recommended! Great customer service and fast shipping!!
Jackie arrived, nicely packed and in rapid order... much lighter than I expected, thank goodness as the instrument is attached to the player by their thumbs (and mine are kind of old).
I never thought that it would be so challenging for me to learn play ... so different from anything I've tried before... I can feel the neurons in my brain sparking and protesting. Actually, it feels good to build new pathways. The cat is none too pleased with my new endeavor. However, Jackie is a beautiful instrument, well made and of good quality. I'm sure, in time, we'll become the best of friends.
Thanks to all at Lark in the Morning for making my experience so pleasant and trouble free. <3
The external Twin Spot works great on my Irish Bouzouki. I've scotched taped the pickup heads and wires it in place for easy adjustment, and the pick up sensitivity is very good. I'm running it through my guitar DI box for increased sensitivity and tone control.
I think that every household should have a buffalo horn. We are now the proud owners of a fine horn which we obtained from Lark in the morning. It will be handy for calling in the children from play, and signaling to the neighbors across the river.
