I have the same instrument as pictured and was surprised at how clear and bell like it sounded. I play a few instruments by ear and when I'm learning a new tune I often first get the tune on the 'Glock.' It is compact, Fun to play too. If I have a cold or some reason I can't play the flute, out comes the Glckenspiel. When holding the mallets don't hold them; let them loosely lay in your palms. You'll get a clearer, longer sounding note. I play the piano so the convienient layout of the instrument makes it easy to play. Experiment with going off melody and harmonizing if playing along with an mp3 or accenting the music. The instrument may look like a toy but it's not!

This was my first ever Hardanger, so I basically wanted a "Squier" version of a Hardanger: an entry level Hardanger to learn on that was new and solid but wouldn't break the bank. This has been pretty much perfect and just what I wanted.I love playing it.
Beautiful amazing instrument! Easy and fun to play! Highly recommended! Great customer service and fast shipping!!
Jackie arrived, nicely packed and in rapid order... much lighter than I expected, thank goodness as the instrument is attached to the player by their thumbs (and mine are kind of old).
I never thought that it would be so challenging for me to learn play ... so different from anything I've tried before... I can feel the neurons in my brain sparking and protesting. Actually, it feels good to build new pathways. The cat is none too pleased with my new endeavor. However, Jackie is a beautiful instrument, well made and of good quality. I'm sure, in time, we'll become the best of friends.
Thanks to all at Lark in the Morning for making my experience so pleasant and trouble free. <3
The external Twin Spot works great on my Irish Bouzouki. I've scotched taped the pickup heads and wires it in place for easy adjustment, and the pick up sensitivity is very good. I'm running it through my guitar DI box for increased sensitivity and tone control.
I think that every household should have a buffalo horn. We are now the proud owners of a fine horn which we obtained from Lark in the morning. It will be handy for calling in the children from play, and signaling to the neighbors across the river.
