Copper & Brass Lizard Didgeridoo
Copper & Brass Lizard Didgeridoo
SKU:DIG091
This treasure fell out of some plumber's mind. These were sold only at one Didgefest in 2007 and I chose the one I liked the most, with a lizard on the bell. They varied a bit in length for tuning, and the artistry was different for each one. Made from copper pipe and bell with brass and bronze artwork, and has a coating to prevent corrosion. This one has a couple of scratches near the bell, they can be polished out perhaps without needing a recoat.
It definitely sounds better than a PVC equivalent. Some of that is that the stiff material vibrates well. The long skinny tube supports dropjaw and just begs for trumpet tones. The bell balances the tube well and gives the sound a lot of power and quality. I've always thought it might sound even better if it had some bumps and dents inside the tube and bell, but I would not want to alter the artist's design, and heat would no doubt damage the coating. Maybe a few tiny marbles with epoxy?? Your job, not mine.
