Marimbata - This is a new twist on the traditional cajon, a box drum found in Africa and in the Caribbean Islands; 5 metal tongues, like large "bass kalimba" have been added to give bass tones as found on the marimbula, and there are 2 drum heads on opposite sides for a bata effect. Sounds from slaps and high tones to bass sounds are possible on this drum, and the metal tongues are adjustable for tuning to specific pitches. 21"x15"x12".
