By 1916, the mandolin orchestra movement was in full swing in America, and Gibson was dominating the market. Gibson's build quality in this era is considered exceptional, even for entry-level models. The A Jr. was designed to appeal to amateur musicians who wanted Gibson quality at a lower price. It was sold through catalogs and often targeted at students and hobbyists.

Frets have been replaced on this one and are now showing some wear. There's some bow in the neck but it remains nicely playable. The original bridge is included, but it has an adjustable bridge on it now.

Case is worn but very useable.

Serial #84734
