This DVD is for guitarists who want to get familiar with the world of Celtic music on fingerstyle guitar. National Fingerstyle Guitar Champion, Pat Kirtley, presents challenging arrangements in the DADGAD tuning of six traditional tunes from Ireland and Scotland. These arrangements are designed for guitarists who are already at advanced-beginner to intermediate level and want to explore a completely different musical style. The skill level progresses throughout the lesson from the very easy but melodic Skye Boat Song to a challenging dance tune Boys from Blue Hill. Pat also shows you: the structure and form of Celtic tunes; how to understand and play dance rhythms-jigs and reels; how to identify the different types of tune in this genre; How to play Celtic ornaments adapted from fiddle and wind instrument techniques; how to embellish the melody on slow tunes; how DADGAD tuning enhances Celtic arrangements. A detailed tab/music booklet is included as a PDF file on the DVD. Now Available:

Nice sound
This was my first ever Hardanger, so I basically wanted a "Squier" version of a Hardanger: an entry level Hardanger to learn on that was new and solid but wouldn't break the bank. This has been pretty much perfect and just what I wanted.I love playing it.
Beautiful amazing instrument! Easy and fun to play! Highly recommended! Great customer service and fast shipping!!
Jackie arrived, nicely packed and in rapid order... much lighter than I expected, thank goodness as the instrument is attached to the player by their thumbs (and mine are kind of old).
I never thought that it would be so challenging for me to learn play ... so different from anything I've tried before... I can feel the neurons in my brain sparking and protesting. Actually, it feels good to build new pathways. The cat is none too pleased with my new endeavor. However, Jackie is a beautiful instrument, well made and of good quality. I'm sure, in time, we'll become the best of friends.
Thanks to all at Lark in the Morning for making my experience so pleasant and trouble free. <3
The external Twin Spot works great on my Irish Bouzouki. I've scotched taped the pickup heads and wires it in place for easy adjustment, and the pick up sensitivity is very good. I'm running it through my guitar DI box for increased sensitivity and tone control.
