Dix Bruce carefully teaches lead and backup guitar to nine great and classic country, bluegrass, and folk standards, ballads and hot breakdowns played by musicians the world over. Dix demonstrates the basic "bass note/strum" technique and shows how melodies can be easily integrated into known chord patterns. You'll first learn leads on the country classics Worried Man Blues; Lonesome Valley; Storms are on the Ocean; and Handsome Molly in a variety of different keys. You'll also learn the all-time guitar hit Wildwood Flower and how to transpose it from the key of G to the key of C. Dix also demonstrates more complex leads on Redwing; John Hardy; Jimmie Brown the Newsboy; and more on the invaluable skill of transposing a song from one key to another. The instruction in this DVD will prepare you to play flatpicked leads in virtually any country, folk, and bluegrass ensemble. A detailed tab/music instructional booklet is included as a PDF file on the DVD. Now Available:

This was my first ever Hardanger, so I basically wanted a "Squier" version of a Hardanger: an entry level Hardanger to learn on that was new and solid but wouldn't break the bank. This has been pretty much perfect and just what I wanted.I love playing it.
Beautiful amazing instrument! Easy and fun to play! Highly recommended! Great customer service and fast shipping!!
Jackie arrived, nicely packed and in rapid order... much lighter than I expected, thank goodness as the instrument is attached to the player by their thumbs (and mine are kind of old).
I never thought that it would be so challenging for me to learn play ... so different from anything I've tried before... I can feel the neurons in my brain sparking and protesting. Actually, it feels good to build new pathways. The cat is none too pleased with my new endeavor. However, Jackie is a beautiful instrument, well made and of good quality. I'm sure, in time, we'll become the best of friends.
Thanks to all at Lark in the Morning for making my experience so pleasant and trouble free. <3
The external Twin Spot works great on my Irish Bouzouki. I've scotched taped the pickup heads and wires it in place for easy adjustment, and the pick up sensitivity is very good. I'm running it through my guitar DI box for increased sensitivity and tone control.
I think that every household should have a buffalo horn. We are now the proud owners of a fine horn which we obtained from Lark in the morning. It will be handy for calling in the children from play, and signaling to the neighbors across the river.
