The variety of Christmas songs and carols provides a fertile ground for fingerstyle guitarists. At the same time, the familiarity of these tunes requires the guitarist to explore creative approaches in order to bring new textures and meanings to these timeless melodies. Employing various tunings, unusual chord voicings, counterpoint lines, alternating bass and arpeggio techniques, El McMeen explains his arrangements of Christmas favorites, ranging from the sprightly Jingle Bells and Bring A Torch Jeannette Isabella, through a tender version of Away In A Manger, to evocative arrangements of We Three Kings and other songs. Three guitar tunings are explored: standard, DADGAD and CGDGAD. Titles include: Away In A Manger, We Three Kings, Angels We Have Heard On High, Bring A Torch Jeannette Isabella, Jingle Bells, A 'Soaling and We Wish You A Merry Christmas. 69 minutes / Level 2-3. A detailed tab/music booklet is included as a PDF file on the DVD. Now Available:

This was my first ever Hardanger, so I basically wanted a "Squier" version of a Hardanger: an entry level Hardanger to learn on that was new and solid but wouldn't break the bank. This has been pretty much perfect and just what I wanted.I love playing it.
Beautiful amazing instrument! Easy and fun to play! Highly recommended! Great customer service and fast shipping!!
Jackie arrived, nicely packed and in rapid order... much lighter than I expected, thank goodness as the instrument is attached to the player by their thumbs (and mine are kind of old).
I never thought that it would be so challenging for me to learn play ... so different from anything I've tried before... I can feel the neurons in my brain sparking and protesting. Actually, it feels good to build new pathways. The cat is none too pleased with my new endeavor. However, Jackie is a beautiful instrument, well made and of good quality. I'm sure, in time, we'll become the best of friends.
Thanks to all at Lark in the Morning for making my experience so pleasant and trouble free. <3
The external Twin Spot works great on my Irish Bouzouki. I've scotched taped the pickup heads and wires it in place for easy adjustment, and the pick up sensitivity is very good. I'm running it through my guitar DI box for increased sensitivity and tone control.
I think that every household should have a buffalo horn. We are now the proud owners of a fine horn which we obtained from Lark in the morning. It will be handy for calling in the children from play, and signaling to the neighbors across the river.
