ABOUT THE BIG ISLAND SPOT
The Big Island Spot is an internal single-head pickup for fan-braced ukuleles. It is designed with the player in mind who seeks a quicker and easier mount than K&K's Aloha Twin pickup system. The second photo shows an installation on a basic fan-braced instrument. For ukuleles with X bracing, K&K recommends the Aloha Twin, which is well suited for both bracing types. The Big Island Spot has a strong output signal even without a preamp.
Please keep in mind when playing without a preamp, the result depends somewhat on the quality and type of the amplification equipment.

I read about sistrums in a fantasy adventure book and had to have one! Lark listed one I could afford that combines old crafting techniques with bottle caps! The delivery was quick. I played around with it and was surprised at all the different chimes and riffs it could make. Right now it is displayed with my also-African-made soda can lion. I'm happy!
Nice sound
This was my first ever Hardanger, so I basically wanted a "Squier" version of a Hardanger: an entry level Hardanger to learn on that was new and solid but wouldn't break the bank. This has been pretty much perfect and just what I wanted.I love playing it.
Beautiful amazing instrument! Easy and fun to play! Highly recommended! Great customer service and fast shipping!!
Jackie arrived, nicely packed and in rapid order... much lighter than I expected, thank goodness as the instrument is attached to the player by their thumbs (and mine are kind of old).
I never thought that it would be so challenging for me to learn play ... so different from anything I've tried before... I can feel the neurons in my brain sparking and protesting. Actually, it feels good to build new pathways. The cat is none too pleased with my new endeavor. However, Jackie is a beautiful instrument, well made and of good quality. I'm sure, in time, we'll become the best of friends.
Thanks to all at Lark in the Morning for making my experience so pleasant and trouble free. <3
