Construction & Materials
The K&K Twin Spot Internal Pickup is a twin-head piezo transducer system engineered for clean, permanent internal mounting in acoustic guitars and a wide range of acoustic instruments. Each compact pickup head measures just 1/2" in diameter and sits at a low profile height of 1/32", allowing placement in tight or hard-to-reach areas of the instrument body. The system ships with a shielded stereo-type endpin jack wired mono, connected via approximately 1 foot of shielded black cable. The endpin jack is designed for external panel installation with no soldering required, keeping the installation straightforward and accessible for players and luthiers alike.
Sound & Playability
Positioning pickups at two distinct contact points produces a more balanced and natural acoustic signal than a single-head transducer. The dual placement captures a broader frequency range across the instrument's soundboard, translating into fuller, more dynamic amplified tone. The high-impedance output pairs well with most preamps, acoustic amps, and direct input boxes, making this system a versatile choice for stage or studio use. The small head size minimizes any dampening effect on the instrument's natural resonance, preserving the character of the acoustic sound.
About This Instrument
K&K Sound has built a reputation among acoustic musicians worldwide for designing passive transducer systems that prioritize natural, transparent sound reproduction. The Twin Spot Internal reflects that philosophy. It is suited for acoustic guitar players, luthiers building custom instruments, and multi-instrumentalists who need a discreet, reliable amplification solution for instruments where space is limited. Lark in the Morning has carried K&K Sound products for their consistent quality and their commitment to preserving the organic voice of acoustic instruments.
Care & Maintenance
Once installed with appropriate adhesive inside the instrument body, the Twin Spot Internal requires no routine maintenance. Keep the endpin jack connection clean and free of debris by periodically inspecting the jack socket. If the pickup is ever removed, take care around the adhesive bond points to avoid damaging the instrument's interior finish. Store cables loosely coiled and avoid sharp bends near the pickup heads to protect the internal wiring over time.

Nice sound
This was my first ever Hardanger, so I basically wanted a "Squier" version of a Hardanger: an entry level Hardanger to learn on that was new and solid but wouldn't break the bank. This has been pretty much perfect and just what I wanted.I love playing it.
Beautiful amazing instrument! Easy and fun to play! Highly recommended! Great customer service and fast shipping!!
Jackie arrived, nicely packed and in rapid order... much lighter than I expected, thank goodness as the instrument is attached to the player by their thumbs (and mine are kind of old).
I never thought that it would be so challenging for me to learn play ... so different from anything I've tried before... I can feel the neurons in my brain sparking and protesting. Actually, it feels good to build new pathways. The cat is none too pleased with my new endeavor. However, Jackie is a beautiful instrument, well made and of good quality. I'm sure, in time, we'll become the best of friends.
Thanks to all at Lark in the Morning for making my experience so pleasant and trouble free. <3
The external Twin Spot works great on my Irish Bouzouki. I've scotched taped the pickup heads and wires it in place for easy adjustment, and the pick up sensitivity is very good. I'm running it through my guitar DI box for increased sensitivity and tone control.
