1971's peculiarly-titled TEN MAN MOP OR MR. RESERVOIR BUTLER RIDES AGAIN is Steeleye Span's third album and the last to feature the band's founder, Ashley Hutchings, who left to form the Albion Country Band shortly after this record's completion. ... Full DescriptionIn fact, this is the only Steeleye Span album to feature the band's most beloved lineup: vocalist Maddy Prior, multi-instrumentalist Tim Hart, bassist Hutchings, guitarist Martin Carthy and fiddler extraordinaire Peter Knight.
One of Steeleye's more traditionally-styled folk albums, TEN MAN MOP features excellent rock-informed versions of such favorites as "Gower Wassail," "Four Nights Drunk," "Wee Weaver" and sets of jigs and reels that are marvelous showcases for Knight and Hart's remarkable instrumental abilities. Novices to British folk music may want to start with one of Steeleye Span's more pop-oriented albums--1975's ALL AROUND MY HAT is a favorite--but this album shows the group at the best of their abilities.
Personnel: Tim Hart (vocals, guitar, banjo, dulcimer, mandolin, organ); Martin Carthy (vocals, guitar, organ); Peter Knight (vocals, tenor banjo, mandolin, violin, fiddle, keyboards, timpani); Maddy Prior (vocals, spoons, tabor).
1. Gower Wassail
2. Jigs: Paddy Clancey's Jig/Willie Clancy's Fancy: Paddy Clancy's Jig / Willie Clancy's Fancy
3. Four Nights Drunk
4. When I Was on Horseback
5. Marrowbones
6. Captain Coulston
7. Reels: Dowd's Favourite/u10 Float/The Morning Dew: Dowd's Favorite / 10 Lb. Float / Morning Dew

Awesome instrument
I already play a mountain lap dulcimer, but this one gives the instrument a whole different dimension to playing. Really beautiful craftsmanship. Thus isn’t a toy, but a lovely wooden instrument. Very easy to play!

Plays like a dream
Plays like a dream. I have MS and am no longer able to play guitar, but this uke let's me play songs again and sing. I had no idea how much I'd missed having music in my body. Thanks, Lark!
