Standard key-tuned djembe with 8 lugs. Remo djembes are based upon the traditional drums of the West African Mandingo people, originating from the great Mali Empire of the 13th and 14th century. In Africa, one of the Djembe's functions is as a healing drum. Remo Djembes are based on the same traditional Djembe tone and form combined with Remo's modern advances including a wide range of tuning systems, heads, finishes and sizes. REMO'S key-tuned djembe have had great success as the most user friendly djembe in the world. With features like portability, tunability, durability, and playability it's no wonder why it is the choice for thousands and thousands of professional and recreational drummers for years.
The key-tuned Djembes are the most popular of Remo's World Percussion instruments. They're as wide used by touring professionals as they are in drum circles. Playing Remo's new Designer Series Djembes you'll hear quality tones that only this djembe with the Skyndeep drumhead can produce..

This was my first ever Hardanger, so I basically wanted a "Squier" version of a Hardanger: an entry level Hardanger to learn on that was new and solid but wouldn't break the bank. This has been pretty much perfect and just what I wanted.I love playing it.
Beautiful amazing instrument! Easy and fun to play! Highly recommended! Great customer service and fast shipping!!
Jackie arrived, nicely packed and in rapid order... much lighter than I expected, thank goodness as the instrument is attached to the player by their thumbs (and mine are kind of old).
I never thought that it would be so challenging for me to learn play ... so different from anything I've tried before... I can feel the neurons in my brain sparking and protesting. Actually, it feels good to build new pathways. The cat is none too pleased with my new endeavor. However, Jackie is a beautiful instrument, well made and of good quality. I'm sure, in time, we'll become the best of friends.
Thanks to all at Lark in the Morning for making my experience so pleasant and trouble free. <3
The external Twin Spot works great on my Irish Bouzouki. I've scotched taped the pickup heads and wires it in place for easy adjustment, and the pick up sensitivity is very good. I'm running it through my guitar DI box for increased sensitivity and tone control.
I think that every household should have a buffalo horn. We are now the proud owners of a fine horn which we obtained from Lark in the morning. It will be handy for calling in the children from play, and signaling to the neighbors across the river.
