The Kanun is a very old and historic Asian instrument. It normally rests on your knees, played by plucking individual strings with special picks worn on your fingers. In the 20th century, the Turks improved the design by adding tuning keys, greatly expanding the musical possibilities of this already amazing and versatile instrument. With 72 nylon stings, there is almost no limit to what you can play on a Kanun. 16 inches wide and 39 inches long. Includes a protective padded case. This model has inlays, a finished bridge and mandalas (levers) for fine tuning.
